Throwing Stones To the Stars

We forget sleeping
at innocent nights
throwing stones to the stars
oh, how did I miss but not life
they fall back down
to us
we hold them firm
in our palms
glowing
reciting our hearts
in songs
burning
moon gazes in our favor
young and beautiful
than ever
she, smiling
I, dying
in her grasp
I sip to life

  1. I'm not a poet
    I am an avid
    star gazer
    the heavens above
    give life
    sunlight for
    growth
    warmth
    wind to cool you
    rain to wash you
    clouds to watch
    thunderheads
    that move across
    a blue
    sky
    gigantic white billows
    stacked one on another
    laying in the grass
    watching
    sunset filled
    w/c o l o r
    that yearns
    look at me
    am I not
    beautiful
    deep
    purple turns
    into night light
    slowly lights twinkle
and a sliver of a moon
    appears
    in the high
    mountain desert
    away from city lights
    the stars
    reach out
    to grab you
    so close
    breathless
    longing
    never has
    anything
    been
    so
    touching
    breathe
    breathe
